Are you interested in starting a meditation practice but unsure where to begin? You're not alone. It can be daunting to begin something new, especially when it involves something as personal as your own thoughts and feelings. But don't worry, we're here to help. In this blog post, we'll give you some tips on how to get started with meditation.
Tip 1: Choose a comfortable place

Tip 2: Set a timer
Thoughts can feel restless, but they're simply part of life. Especially if you're new to meditation, it's normal for your mind to wander and feel restless. That's why it's helpful to set a timer so you can focus on your breathing and the sensations in your body without worrying about the time. That's one less thing to think about.
Tip 3: Find your focus
Once you've settled in and set a timer, it's time to focus on your breathing. Close your eyes and breathe in and out calmly and relaxedly. As you inhale, notice the way your chest and abdomen rise and fall with each inhalation and exhalation. If your mind starts to wander, gently bring it back to your breathing. You'll find that some days it's a little easier than others. Don't worry, this isn't unusual.
Tip 4: Return to your body

After focusing on your breathing for a while, start paying attention to the rest of your body. Notice any tension or discomfort and see if you can release it as you exhale. Continue focusing on your breath as you scan your body from head to toe. It can be helpful to choose a direction: top to bottom or bottom to top.
Tip 5: Let go and relax!
When the timer goes off, take a few deep breaths and slowly open your eyes. Congratulate yourself on taking the time out of your day to connect with yourself! Rub your hands vigorously and use gentle movements to feel refreshed and ready to continue your day.
We hope these tips have helped you get started with your meditation practice! Remember, there's no right or wrong way to meditate—the most important thing is to find what works for you and stick with it. If you have any questions or would like more tips, please don't hesitate to contact us!
